Books!!
Hello! I'm back with another post!!! This post is all about BOOKS!! yayyyy! who are all excited!? (haha ok some of them aren't) But, let's get to the post!!!
So I have this HUGE obsession with reading books whenever I'm free. And I thought "why not make a post about it?" and here I am!! I used to read a lot of books when I was younger. I don't know why I started reading books, but I sure don't regret it. Yeah, reading books take you to a whole another world. At least with fictional books. And while reading books we feel relaxed and it calms our mind. Not only that but, reading books strengthen the brain, increases empathy, builds vocabulary, aids sleep and alleviates depression. These are proven facts!! :D
I first started with reading short stories of various genres. I used to love those short stories because my mom used to read them to me when I was 4 or 5. And later when I learnt to read simple words, I started reading it myself and that helped me improve my vocabulary! I never used to sleep without reading at least a page from my storybook. Then I started reading storybooks with more complex sentence formation like Geronimo stilton's adventures. I read most of those books. And then I read books with more complex vocabulary. Books like Harry Potter.
I actually saw the movies first. And when the last movie ended...well, actually I DIDNT WANT IT TO END!!! I wanted to continue this journey in the wizarding world. So when I came to know about the books, how could I not start reading it!? And so, I started reading the harry potter books halfway through seventh grade. I LOVED THE FIRST BOOK!!! And I continued reading all the books. I completed the series in March 2020. The journey was...magical!!! Everytime i open my book, I enter a whole another universe!! A universe where witches and wizards exist. A universe where magic exists. As J.K.Rowling says " It's important to remember that we all have magic inside us."
Now that i was done with the Harry Potter series, i was searching for other book series to start reading. I did my research and then it was down to two options: Percy Jackson or Hunger games? I asked my friend for help. She was so happy when i asked her this! Her reply was literally "PERCY JACKSON!!!!!!". Because she had read the first two books of the series and she loooooveed it!!! So, i started reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians. And i don't regret choosing percy jackson that day! The book had literally everything that a book should have!! (of course, so does the harry potter books). It had Humour, adventures (lots of it), a mysterious plot, characters who are so relatable, and whatnot! I continued reading the series and completed it within 5 months or something i guess! (i really don't remember lol). And then i started reading the spin-off series of percy jackson and the Olympians: Heroes of olympus! And i swear it gets better and better!!! I finished the first book and now I'm in the second book. One book before Pranavaa. She started reading the series way before me but for quite some time she hasn't touched her book. so meanwhile, I finished reading the first book and now I'm literally one book away from beating her (of course its not a race or something but lol it's fun to actually challenge lol).
Ok so this post is getting way too long now! I could go on and on about the books i read and i don't wanna get you bored lol. So I'll attach pictures of the books i read and u can check 'em out if u are interested (more like obsessed lol) in reading books as i am!

Good Aishu. You used to love hearing stories every night. And then I taught you to read short story books. After you started reading books on your own you never slept without reading at least a page. I am really proud of you. I still want you to read books from all genres . Love you. - Mom.

ReplyDeleteI honestly loved this. When I was in grade 4, I raced with my elder sis (who is like, 5 years or sumthin elder to me) for reading a Thea Stilton hard-bound cover book thing, and when I one (I am a very fast reader), she said , 'it's because the book YOU picked has more pictures than the one you gave me!' lmao
ReplyDeleteYea, I can relate. I read the Hunger Games: Catching fire in just 2 hrs in only one sitting and don't even talk about harry potter. I read Prisioner of Askaban in like 2.5 hrs with one sitting. Don't wanna brag but I am like the fastest reader in my class. All my classmates are snails compared to me. But bragging is bad you know? As the rabbit never won the race by bragging.
