Browny’s story

It was 2010 when I first saw daylight. I'm Browny,the best friend of Aishu. I was born on November 10, 2010. The very first day of my life was made special by my friend's neighbour. She first adopted me when I was little. Oh! Wait I forgot to tell you that I am a dog. A sweet, cute, trustworthy dog friend of Aishu.

       The neighbour adopted me and she looked nice. She seemed like a dog- person and she cares about dogs. Then another lady came over to the house and started cuddling with me. She found my perfect spot for petting me. I saw a lot of love and affection in her eyes when she saw me.

        I loved playing with her. She used to come to my house daily and she plays with me. I love her so much. One fine day,she came to me as usual and played with me. I heard her say that It was her son's birthday. I didn’t know she had a son. I know that she had a daughter( Aishu ). 

        I wanted to play with her daily. But I got an even more sweet opportunity. The one who adopted me first at the doggy day care gave me as a gift to that kind lady. Now I get to live with her. I was so glad to hear that she was going to adopt me. I was so happy, I started running in circles until I got dizzy.

        The very next day I was taken to my dream house. I was cheerfully welcomed by the kids in the house. They were so kind to me. That was when I met Aishu. She took me in her hands and started petting me. I started wagging my tail so hard that It hit her face. She laughed, I squealed in happiness and we became the best of friends.

        That evening when she came back from school I jumped so that she could see me. But she didn’t . So I sneaked behind her back and jumped on her backpack. When she took of her backpack she saw that I was hanging on to it. She was so thrilled to see a puppy sitting on her backpack.

         It was so funny that her brother laughed until his tummy hurt him. You should have seen the expression on her face. So humorous. Her face was full of mixed emotions. That is one golden moment. 

Now that Aishu is a proud dog owner,she has to take good care of me. She has to take this opportunity to prove to her mother that she is responsible. So every evening she took me for a walk. Weekly once I got a fun bath time. She used to pet me in the perfect spot. Now that's something which drives me crazy. It's like I live for that.

          It all happened so fast. Now I was 8yrs old. I looked big and chubby. People who enter my house will be so afraid if I go near them. I couldn’t believe how ridiculous they were. Just because I had sharp teeth doesn’t mean that I would bite them. People were also scared because I would jump on them and start licking them.

          Whenever Aishu’s cousins visited her,they want someone to guard them from me. I always used to jump and run in circles in front of them. They thought that I was going to bite them. But they did not understand the fact that I was so excited to see them. The same used to happen when her friends visited her too. Only one of her friends used to play with me. They are all that afraid of me.

         Now that I'm grown even Aishu was grown up. And she started avoiding me. I just thought that she was busy with her other works. And indeed she was busy with her school stuff and all. But she didn't pay attention to me at all. I was so worried that I was being avoided by my best friend. At least that’s what I thought.

         One fine day, Aishu was out cycling and I was out finishing what I had to finish. Aishu went in a street that had more dogs in it. One of the dog was so ferocious. Aishu didn’t know that. I went behind her to warn her. But she just thought I was playing with her. She went to a free space to turn her cycle back. There she saw that ferocious dog. The dog saw her and started chasing her.

           She knew that she shouldn’t run while a dog is chasing her. But she didn’t know what to do because the dog looked so ferocious. So she started running. There was a house nearby and she banged the back door of it. But nobody answered. The dog nearly caught her leg. But that was when I swooped in and stopped the savage stray dog. I was also frightened to see the stray dog. But when It comes to Aishu I would do anything for her.

           The dog saw me and ran away. The one funny thing about this Incident was that I was frightened to the core to see such savage stray dog. And that stray dog was also afraid of me because of my appearance. But we both didn’t know and that was funny. I fought with such fear for my best friend. And that is unconditional love.

           Aishu was so grateful to me because I saved her life from a stray dog. So from that day she started paying attention to me like always. I was so happy to get my best friend back. We were so happy together. Her mother was so proud of me. Aishu was my truest friend In this whole wide world.

           One day I had this weird feeling while I got up. And Aishu’s mother was out in the veranda. Normally if she sees me she would wave at me. But that day it was weird, she acted as though she didn’t see me. Then Aishu came out. Even she acted weird that day. Likewise every member of the family came out. And I was sure that there was a problem.

            Then I walked in front of them and saw. They were all crying. But I didn’t know why until I saw a dog in front of them. That dog looked similar to me. But I thought It was not me. Aishu was crying so hard, I wanted to console her. But I realised that I couldn’t, because I was not in that world. That weird feeling was my death. And I was not sad for It. I just wanted Aishu happy. Because she was my best friend in this whole wide world.
